Romeo and Juliet

Over the last few weeks my class was reading Romeo and Juliet, a romantic tragedy that argues family feuds or true love.

My opinion about his play is that it was amazing. I really enjoyed the plots and the scenes that took place. I also loved the characters and how everything flowed together. One thing I didn't like was how Romeo feel in love with the next person that he saw; which is one of the reasons why I think that their love was fake and not real because right after Rosaline dumped him he saw Juliet and loved her.

This play was based in Verona between the Capulet's and the Montague's but, Romeo was banished to Mantua.

The tale of Romeo and Juliet is that two families were fighting (Capulet's and Montague's) and Romeo, a Montague, falls in love with Juliet, a Capulet. Their love was so strong that they had to kill themselves to be together because of their families. Juliet was going to wed Paris, one of the Capulet's friends. But, a twisted turn of events came and they both ended up killing themselves for true love! WOW!

Stars:

I gave Romeo and Juliet a 5 out of 5 because over all, it was awsome! Every little part was so well written and I loved it!

Our Relatives?

Chimpanzees, a mokey right? When we think of these outrages animal we think exactly that, just a stupid animal without a brain. Well a resent study from Nonhuman Rights Project, Steven M. Wise states that these animals have the same rights as a "legal person". Isnt that crazy? These animals technically have somewhat of the same rights as us!
The New York Supreme Court will decide in the next few upcoming weeks whether a chimpanzee kept in captivity should have these legal rights. Now, what this doesn't mean is that they can drive, or have money, or rome around the streets; it means that they shouldn't be caged or beat. Why is this? Well, because since these chimps are so relatively close to humans they deserve these rights.

If you look to see the picture above you cant see how humans and these chimpanzees are so similar. It's not only our body shapes and sizes but, how we care for our young, eat, live, our feelings, behavior, brain etc. There are many more reasons and scientific facts towards these facts. For more information click here.

The court will consider a suit filed by a group of activists who are representing four chimpanzees, CNN reported on Tuesday. The group is asking that the state award them the "right to bodily liberty."
"Not long ago, people generally agreed that human slaves could not be legal persons, but were simply the property of their owners," Wise stated. "We will assert, based on clear scientific evidence, that it's time to take the next step and recognize that these nonhuman animals cannot continue to be exploited as the property of their human 'owners.'"

What this is stating is that basically we can't cage our "own" kind. According to  Joyce Tischler, co-founder of the Animal Legal Defense Fund, wrote to CNN, a "legal person" isn't necessarily defined as a human being.

Polar bears

As kids, we love seeing fluffy cuddley creatures, for example, koalas, baby kittens, dogs, and Polar bears. Everyone knows what a Polar bear is! A giant white bear that lives in the arctic and swims, just like any other bear but in the freezing cold. Now, imagine our kids and grandkids not even knowing what a Polar bear is. This terrible tragedy is happening, Polar bears are becoming extinct, before we even realize it they will be gone.

Machines, factories, polution, global warming.- We all hear about how bad these things are, we know they can affect us but no one really sees it. Well, thanks to Global warming and pollution, it is melting the tectonic plates under the arctic which is causing these large pieces of ice that the bears live on to melt. This means no home, no shelter for these poor animals. as it says right here stated from http://www.polarbearsinternational.org/ "Floods. Droughts. Heat waves. Monster wildfires. Climate change is not just about polar bears, the iconic symbol of a melting Arctic. Global warming affects the entire planet."

Sea ice losses in the Arctic from global warming are the major threat to polar bears. Polar bears depend on sea ice for hunting, breeding, and in some cases, denning. In 2012, summer ice losses in the Arctic were larger than the size of the United States. Biologists estimate there are 20,000 to 25,000 polar bears. About 60% of those live in Canada. Polar bears are also found in the U.S. (Alaska), Russia, Greenland.

Can you imagine a life without these beautiful creatures? How would you we feel, if when we go to the zoo and see no Polar bears there? What if we  never get to hear from a child saying, "Wow! mommy what's that?" I know it's hard to think about but in reality it's our fault. We are the ones that cause global warming and pollution, they affect us too! So I don"t see a reason why no one can help it.

Who would want to kill this little guy? No one! Now stop watching and get to stopping!

Catching Fire

Right now I am reading catching fire, a series from The Hunger Games.
This book is a great read about love, action, and Man vs. Society. So in the book right now, Pita and Katniss have to go back into the games because Gale was being wipped and katniss came in to save him, which she isn't supposed to do. So now they are doing a reaping, the capital, at every district but, the people that can be reaped are already winners of the games and have to do it again, even though they were garuanteed a life of wealth and happiness.

This is an extremely well writen book and they recently created a movie to go along with it! If you haven't seen it I would check it out because it matches this book so far perfectly, rather than the first Hunger games which missed out on a lot of little parts. This book is filled with lots of love and heart break, which is even more the reason I love it so much. Here is the trailer for this movie:
