Our Relatives?

Chimpanzees,
a monkey right? When we think of these outrages animal we think exactly that,
just a stupid animal without a brain. Well a recent study from Nonhuman Rights
Project, Steven M. Wise states that these animals have the same rights as a
"legal person". Isn’t that crazy? These animals technically have
somewhat of the same rights as us!
The New York Supreme Court will decide in the next few upcoming weeks whether a chimpanzee kept in captivity should have these legal rights. Now, what this doesn't mean is that they can drive, or have money, or rome around the streets; it means that they shouldn't be caged or beat. Why is this? Well, because since these chimps are so relatively close to humans they deserve these rights.

If you look to see the
picture above you can see how humans and these chimpanzees are so similar. It's
not only our body shapes and sizes but, how we care for our young, eat, live,
our feelings, behavior, brain etc. There are many more reasons and scientific
facts towards these facts. For more information click here.
The court will consider a suit filed by a group of activists who are representing four chimpanzees, CNN reported on Tuesday. The group is asking that the state award them the "right to bodily liberty."
"Not long ago, people generally agreed that human slaves could not be legal persons, but were simply the property of their owners," Wise stated. "We will assert, based on clear scientific evidence, that it's time to take the next step and recognize that these nonhuman animals cannot continue to be exploited as the property of their human 'owners.'"
What this is stating is that basically we can't cage our "own" kind. According to Joyce Tischler, co-founder of the Animal Legal Defense Fund, wrote to CNN, a "legal person" isn't necessarily defined as a human being.

This is my favorite blog post because it
demonstrates many uses of diction, syntax, and personality throughout the post.
I also found many uses of voice, for example when I say, “Chimpanzees, a monkey
right? When we think of these outrages animal we think exactly that, just a
stupid animal without a brain.” This shows voice because you can really hear
how I talk and my personality. Like when it says outrages and stupid animal,
you get a feel of my opinions and thoughts toward the monkeys. Another example
of voice is when I state, “What this is stating is that basically we can't cage
our "own" kind.” This shows voice because I put quotation marks
around “own”. I did this to put a emphases on the word to get a feel or
curiosity toward the topic. My personality is very outgoing, and I show that
within my blogs by putting question marks and periods in certain places. Also
apostrophes to show if something is fun and up-beat! Or boring and dull… I use
this technique in many blogs because it shows my personality and makes the blog
worth reading and fun to read!
I used syntax
in many lines, for example, “Isn’t that crazy?” This shows punctuation because
by using a question mark it is trying to get the reader to think about the
question given and really grabs their attention toward finding the answer. Also
throughout my blog I used many types of diction. For example when I say, “For
more about this crazy world changing topic, click on this here site.”
This shows low/informal because it is an example of slang. The reason this
shows slang is because you can hear my tone and mood in the sentence and really
hear my voice! Also, “Well, because since these chimps are so relatively close
to humans they deserve these rights. “ This shows formal diction because it is
a little more sophisticated and creates an elevated tone. When I say
“relatively” and “rights” I am truly stating my opinion in the law and
relatively is a more sophisticated word.

I love the topic its very interesting. GREAT BLOG OVERALL I LOVE THE DESIGN!! You have amazing blog length its crazy!
